Poet. Facilitator. Film Maker. Mother.

Lily writes about the everyday extraordinary, from the political to the poetical. She approaches the uncomfortable edges of life with playfulness, honesty and tenderness.  Lily has performed her work across the UK, including Ledbury Poetry Festival,  Cheltenham Poetry Festival and Abergavenny Writing Festival.  Her work has been described as:

"Scorchingly honest and human" (Jude Rogers, Author & Broadcaster

"Visceral, loving and brave" (Emylia Hall, Founder Mothership Writers)

Lily's debut pamphlet, You Make Me Think of Swifts,  is a raw navigation through the landscape of early motherhood. The book features a foreword by Lucy Jones, author of Long-listed Women's Prize for Non-fiction book, Matrescence. Lucy says: "[You Make Me Think of Swifts] electrified me. For me, there is something sacred and transcendent about these poems. Unlike anything I've read before.”

You Make Me Think of Swifts has recently earned a place on the shelves of the National Poetry Library and is out now with The Collective Press.

Lily is currently working on her new collection, a poetical memoir exploring the complex relationships between birth, death, grief and the mother-daughter bond. It is an unflinching and intimate account of caring for her mother at end of life.

In praise of You Make Me Think of Swifts:

"This book is electrifying and radical; an oasis, a spring, a healing balm [...] A generous, consoling, inspiring and powerful collection which swells with imagination, meaning and hope."

Lucy Jones, Author Matrescence, On the Metamorphosis of Pregnancy, Childbirth and Motherhood

Lily’s poems about matrescence, motherhood and identity are moving, vivid and bright.

Jude Rogers, journalist and author

A stunning collection. These are poems that pulse with energy and rhythm, stirring the soul and igniting the senses. An absolute triumph.

Emylia Hall, Founder of Mothership Writers

"These poems are life-lines and sunlight and moths and the guts and the gore, the deep cold water and the free wheeling birds; the ephemeral dreams and the harsh realities. This is soul work."

Claire Tonti, Song Maker, Storyteller & Podcaster
